On Declaring a Heritage Site

The BHCDO has been making overtures to the national authorities as it intensifies efforts to have the Barnes Hill Community Reservoir, established in 1893, officially declared a National Heritage Site.

Documents related to this have already been sent to the Development Control Authority (DCA) and initial dialogue has been opened with Dr. Reg Murphy of National Parks.

The BHCDO executive believes that should the reservoir be granted this designation it will help to propel local support for the project forward while moving to highlight aspects of culture and heritage in Antigua and Barbuda
