BHCDO to get grant funding for Reservoir Project

The Barnes Hill Community Development Organization (BHCDO) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will see much needed funds pumped into the community’s Community Reservoir Restoration Project and the development of a community tourism centre in the immediate area.

Financing to the tune of US$50,000 is facilitated by the Global Environment Facility/Small Grants Programme (GEF/SGP) implemented by the UNDP on behalf of GEF implementing agencies …UNDP, UNEP and the World Bank and executed by UNOPS.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the BHCDO by organization President, Timothy Payne and for the Executive Director of UNOPS by Portfolio Manager Kristoffer Kappy.

The first instalment of US$25,000 becomes available almost immediately and two further drawdowns of US$15,000 and US$10,000 becomes available over the life of the grant programme, which is one year.
