Member of Parliament for St. George’s, Dean Jonas, was very visible in the Barnes Hill community on Tuesday (19/7/2016) having delivered promised backhoe services to assist the Barnes Hill Community Development Organization (BHCDO) in its reservoir restoration campaign.
By 9.a.m, Jonas met with BHCDO President Timothy Payne and discussions were held as to the tasks that were on the agenda for completion during the day.
By 10.30 the backhoe was at full throttle clearing the key western entrance to the facility and also clearing heavy shrub that had overgrown the norther perimeter fence. More clearing work was done on the concrete run-off as the organization now looks to preparing that area for development in the near future.
“It’s a work in progress,” said President Payne.
“We still have a very long way to go but it is very helpful that the Member of Parliament has seen that what we are doing is of great worth and has offered his full support to the project.
“We are grateful for the assistance and look forward to his fulfilling an additional promise that all efforts will be exhausted to ensure the backhoe services will be made available next week to continue work that could not have been completed Tuesday.
